Anchors away…and let hope float!

An anchor helps keep a boat attached to one place on the ocean floor so that it does not go adrift in the sea. Sailors believe it serves as a refuge, and a symbol of hope for calm seas.

Likewise, a “spiritual anchor” is something that helps keep us grounded, and able to cope with the difficulties we may face. The bible references anchors in Hebrews 6:19 where we are encouraged that “Hope is an anchor for the soul” and once again in Psalm 34:17 where we are promised that “Jesus is our anchor in the midst of life’s stormy sea. He is the anchor that steadies our soul”.

An anchor is what keeps you from being swept away, so your fears (False Evidence Appearing Real) do not allow you to drift to the worst case scenario. The worth of an anchor is only revealed during a storm. Our hope should be in the Lord, not in our efforts. Of course we should participate in our lives and do everything with excellence.  We should be realistic about our circumstances, but hold on to our faith in God and his power to perform miracles.

God blesses and is good to the people who are expecting his favor. Let your faith be released.  God meets you at your expectations.
